Perfect ,I appreciate the fine detail you go into. got my kayak last year originally for exercise but I've been fishing since a boy so I'm now researching how to fish using it. I got it in the local canal once last year just to see what it was like........(the only vessel I've been on the water in is a ferry) ..........absolutely crapped myself!!, I bought a good stable craft .....god knows what a unstable one is like

Sam and James Fishing thank you it means a lot. I am out at the weekend to film the deployment and retrieving of both types of anchoring techniques. Plenty of footage for videos to do put together. Carp, chub , kayak all sorts to come. Hopefully as weather gets worse will get more time to put them out. Garry

Thank you, and I appreciate the sub it’s hard to get any traction, there’s so many channels out there and I don’t promote or push my channel. It’s just a hobby, I prefer to fish than edit. All day on computer at work. I felt there was a lot of bad info on anchoring and a lot of stuff and advice not relevant to uk tides. Some places it’s pushed through faster than we can paddle at times. So being able to safely anchor is very important

@@carperblue look forward it… I get the editing bit, I was involved with a carping channel and my mate used to do the editing part… ball ache! Standout though is the quality of the content, fancy editing and gimmicks will never outdo quality content. Appreciate the response and your work, I’m new to kayak fishing having lost my enthusiasm for carping and I stare at the Bristol Channel everyday and the last hour or so watching your bits has armed me up more 👍

@@truthfulremedy_aka_lennybee Carp fishing I will always have a soft spot for however it will never be the same. I got tiered of the commercial scene last choice of swim and £150 odd for a weekend fishing. Species hunting and all round fishing, the kayak. I have my fishing mojo restored. Life’s to short to Persue one species. And small can be equally as rewarding or difficult to catch and often more interesting

I have pulled 2kg and 6ft of chain but my current set up holds everywhere todate. I realise it’s heavier than most but advantages out way carrying the extra kg or so

Lots of good, interesting advice there. Where do you get your bits and pieces such as the anchor trolley mounts, scres, ropes etc? I live in the NE of Scotland and there's absolutely nothing here (very little in the whole of Scotland actually) to cater for kayak fishing so I need to look at reputable online suppliers. Any advice appreciated. Ta!!

H2O brand on eBay for trolley , chose the type of fixings based on your yak and access. Trifold rivets or if you can get to the back nuts and bolts. Swap out the ring for a big stainless carabiner. Most bits I source on eBay or Amazon

@@Skinhead-201 my pleasure. Always message if you need anything. Run a group on Facebook called Sussex kayak fishing too if that helps. Albeit I fish all over when holidays and wife allows . Was in Scotland last month, Wales this month.

@@carperblue Thanks again. I'm not on FB so that's not an option. I was looking at a Cambridge Kayaks Sailfish 13ft boat. They have about £400 off them just now (I presume end of line) but don't know if they are any good or how reliable the pedal system would be. I emailed them last night with a few queries but have not had a reply as yet so that's not a good sign. Any knowledge of them? Came close to getting a yak 3 years ago and the Galaxy Sturgeon was the one I fancied. I'm tempted by their pedal drive one. Thoughts? I know you liked the Sturgeon. A Hobie would be ideal but I can't justify the cash at the moment. Cheers!

@@Skinhead-201 I went out on one Sunday, to be honest I wouldn’t bother. Handling was terrible, so tippy the guys going to get rid of it. Out of all the yaks I have padded probably over 10 it was the worst by far. I was very disappointed and alarmed, he couldn’t get back on for love nor money. Had two members fall out in our group with same problems. Both rescued by other members. Look for conventional yak or more expensive peddle drives. I can see the appeal and I would have considered one myself but based on my experiences of late with members and my attempt I could not recommend it as good idea.
