Great video, When you are making your loops to connect the pulleys you can melt one end of the hollow rope and thread it inside the other end after threading your pulley on. You can then sew up the join. Nice and neat.

It is basically the same as the Harmony anchor trolley kit (ATK) from HOOK 1. All I do is make the loops to install it through the deck fittings from the same line that comes with the kit. It is super easy. I also add the heat shrink for a cleaner install and that is available pretty much anywhere.

Chris, you can get it out of the ring much faster. You rig it be doubling the line and pulling it through the ring and them attaching the loop. To dump the line you simply pull the loop free. I use a cam cleat to make dumping my line very fast.

If you are looking for a way to do the same thing without sewing it. You can simply use any kind of strong line or small cord and use the technique like you would for wrapping the guides on a rod. Lay a loop of line on the line, wrap over it, put the tag end through the loop and pull the tag end under and snug it up. Use a lighter to burn (and slightly swell) the end of the line, then slide the heat shrink over and you are done. I actually use old fishing braid for most of mine. - Chad

The line won't come off of these pulleys. I prefer these because they are much quieter than carabiners, they last longer than a cheap biner and they are much less expensive than a quality carabiner. It isn't overengineering if it accomplishes what you want. This setup accomplishes wihat I want and it has been refined over the years to be exactly what I want. I have tried deck loops, carabiners, cheap pulleys and numerous others. This is my setup.

Hey Chad nice video, I like the way you rigged that kayak, I like the stuff you put on the bow. I've seen a lot of videos of everyone setting up the anchor trolley, Do you have a video showing how the anchor system works in conjunction with the trolley setup and when is the best time to deploy the trolley,and anchor, like in a river or out in the bay. Do I need a trolley if I fish in smaller lakes?

One thing I did is use a caribiner instead of a ring, that way I can take the anchor line out really quick.

what keeps you trolley ring from moving,maybe I missed something.a zig zag binder would keep the ring in place and also tie off the anchor...

I just pick up my new ride 115x. I had a trolly setup. The guy left about a foot and a half of slack. He tied a slip knot on one end. Is that right or wrong? Hook1 the place to go.

Great video, thanks. That self sticking rubber mat you have on your kayak, how does it stand up to getting a soaking? I really like the look of it and its function of helping to reduce noise too. As such, I am thinking of getting some myself, but being a beginner at all this AND in the UK, I really need to make sure I buy the right stuff first time around. Thanks.

I'm not Chad, but you should should put it on the side where you're going to want it. Sit in your kayak and picture it being there (seriously) to get a feel for how you go about things normally. Everyone has unique motions, habits, and practices on their kayaks. While the left side might work for one person, the right side is better for another. You definitely could put a trolley system on both sides, but that's pretty extreme.

Personally, I don't care much for those little pulleys. It's really a case of over-engineering for this setup. Several times, when bringing in a fish, the line got snagged in them. Also, there have been times the trolley line simply slipped off to the side of the pulley. Went to using a simple carabiner and not had an issue since.

No need to "sew" your knots,simple bowline knot will hold it all together.Also i love the intro sales pitch...if your super fat and lazy yea you shouldn't be on one.Your a heart attack waiting to happen on the water!

On a side note, I did most of my hunting last year at 2.5k feet plus on the mountain.....in Alaska......I'm not petite, I can lose weight, but you'll still be a douch, have a nice day.
