I just put in there for the first time today. I only live 29 minutes from there. Maybe I'll see you out there. Look for the blue camo kaku zulu.

Beautiful conditions! I braved Shem this morning on the incoming with the outgoing wind!
@CurrentAngling Жыл бұрын
Yeah we had amazing conditions! Today looked nasty but Shem is about the only place I can go inshore on such a day.

@@CurrentAngling plan last night was to launch at remleys and fish the docks and grass lines down to the bridge 😂

Question: Is it normal to catch and release the reds in this area? We always kept the legal ones.
@CurrentAngling11 ай бұрын
I release some and keep some. Usually keep them sparingly, the inshore fish are subadult and I want as many as possible to reach the breeding age. The slot is 15-23” so the big one was over slot.

What’s the best baits to use later in June? Great vid as always also
@CurrentAngling Жыл бұрын
If your confident with lures you can never go wrong with the lure I’m using 3” paddle tail on a light jig head. Otherwise mud minnows or shrimp. Bring two rods, one Carolina rig and one with a cork float rig. I use this 2 pole passive / active rod strategy in this video kzbin.info/www/bejne/emq0p4iJdrGEpJY

I actually have a captains license and have chartered before but right now I’m not. For kayak fishing, I highly recommend Chris Tweedy @ carolinatopwater.com out of a boat I recommend Capt Gates Roll @ www.follybeachfishingtrips.com

You feel comfortable eating fish out of Shem creek? I know a few people that won’t because of consistent bacteria levels in the water there
@CurrentAngling Жыл бұрын
Yeah I’ve heard that and I don’t think I’d make it a habit. I have mixed feelings about it…. There is so much water coming in and out of that creek every 12 hours idk.
