Kayak fishing Dania Beach, Florida, Dancing Mahi - Dolphin

Quick question what made you go from the Ocean kayak Prowler 13 to the new yellow Ocean kayak Trident 4.3 kayak and did you buy them down here in south florida because I have yet to see any down here in Miami? Thanks keep up the great fishing and videos

Redundancy is the key here my friend. You should have an emergency gaff, one that is just the hook in a short male end of an old broken paddle, so small that the whole thing could fit in your pocket. It will snap into the female half of your paddle. Just take your paddle apart snap in the emergency gaff and use it. This way you always have an extra gaff in your tackle box in the case that you lost it overboard or left it at the beach. Then put your paddle back together when you need to use it and go home. Just an idea.

How far out is 260'? I've been out to the second reef off Pompano but, that's about it. Dania is much closer to me. I've just never been out of there

260' in pompano is a lot closer then 260 in Dania, to reach deep water in Dania you have to go far out, is like 2 miles out off shore...

why do dolphins lose their color after you catch them?

That's a good question, IDK but yes soon as you take them out of the water they'r beautiful color goes away

Tks for your comments, I never try it before, maybe it is, when I start it fishing from a kayak 5 years ago hobie wasn't that popular and I always like the speed on my Ocean kayaks since I paddle long distances, also hobie is pretty expensive kayak, I have others priorities, lol... Maybe one day I can afford a Pa14... aloha my friend..
