I have to say i have NEVER seen anything like this...in the first video in a while, to boot. And it's not like the catfish was the size of a minnow. He looked to be around a foot long. Such as freak thing for that sucker come hurling at you on a hook set. I feel your pain. Got spined by a catfish years ago, on the skin right below my thumbnail. It still makes me wary of them 30 years after the fact. Glad you got the medical treatment you needed and that you had a buddy with you to assist. Looking forward to future videos of yours where the only flying fishing are flying fish. Get better soon!

Thanks CJD! I'm feeling better and Wednesday night we are heading to TN to do some bass fishing on Douglas Lake for 4 days. Should be fun and hopefully a video full of fish catching action.

It did suck! Things are better now thank God... I ended up in surgery, missing work, lots of pain and drugs... CRAZY!!

That catfish wanted revenge, dear lord it went straight like a dart 🎯 into your elbow. I got one catfish spine in my pinky finger last summer . It went into the joint and I still have the bump. It took me a few weeks to bend my finger right. So catfish are no longer my friends, lol. Be safe out there, good to see you back.

Yes! Brutal bugs at the ramp, on the water it's ok but any exposed skin gets chewed on by gnats. It's very uncomfortable.

Yes! It was so painful. The barb injects a toxin that causes temporary paralysis in predators so the catfish can get away. It felt like someone smacked my elbow with a claw hammer. Then my arm wouldn't move at all. No fun!
