Dude this is crazy. I grew up about 30 min north in Houma and my dad owned a camp less than a quarter mile up the road from where you were. I was there in 2008 during the shrimp run in July and caught about 200 specs on shad rigs. Glad you guys killed it there. I would live to go there on kayaks.

Nice video. I really enjoy kayak fishing!! I’m in the market for a new fishing kayak. I currently own a Ocean Kayak but can’t stand up or use pedal drive for covering distance. What do you recommend?
@YakFishField
@YakFishField 6 жыл бұрын
Well if you want a pedal drive your main options are Hobie, Wilderness Systems Radar, Old Town Predator PDL or Jackson Kayak Coosa FD. I’d go to your local dealer and demo a few before you buy one.

Fantastic video Robert. I live on the Mississippi coast and have fished Louisiana as well, and I have never seen a black drum as large as the one that your friend caught. That was astounding.

Glad you enjoyed it Kevin! I’ve seen a few bigger, but that was a stud. They get GIANT though, like 50+ lbs

Nope. Never heard of a snook being caught in Louisiana. Think it’s too far north

What color luers do you recommend for red drum fishing
@YakFishField
@YakFishField 6 жыл бұрын
In dirty water I like dark colors and chartreuse. In clear water I like white, pink, a little red depending on the area. A gold spoon is always a solid choice too.
