No regulations on distance unless you get to the Keys which is 3 miles

I go about once a month and would recommend parking on Meade St. Hollywood Beach. There's a kayak launch there and the boulders/reefs start only a few hundred yards off the beach. I could be wrong, but there are 3 reefs that increase in depth from about 15 --> 45 feet. DM me if you have any questions my dude.

What are you guys using for your anchoring systems ?

Divers direct sells a nice compact dual hook, I anchor by hooking into any decent sized rock. I would recommend keeping the kayak attached to either you or your gun so that you are always aware of it!
