The kayak you are on is one of the best American made. Check out Bote inflatable kayaks, or the Story Hunter/ Hybrid. Much more stable than a folder, and so much more comfortable.

What a fun adventure! I'd be afraid of tipping over. But I'll still try it at least once. The Susquehanna is the longest non-navigable river in the country, also the largest river lying entirely in the US that drains into the Atlantic. A nice addition to the channel

True about non-navigable, but I live in the 55-mile stretch with 4 dams and their deep reservoirs 😉 Also, watch for my upcoming Susquehanna River video because I quoted both those facts as well 🤣😂🤣 Thanks so much for watching, Ronman!

Oh I'm getting one, just need to figure out which one. Open to advice! Thanks for watching, Kate

@@HikerDudeDad definitely an open top. The Wandering Woodsman got a camera mount for his kayak. That would make filming easier.

I have lived in Harford County for 60 years, all of them within 10 miles of Deer Creek and had never been on it till this year. We bought our 10' sit ins and hit the rapids this Spring. What a blast. I prefer a head strap for the GoPro with a tether to my PFD. Water in the kayak is not as big of an issue with the sit in because the bow is covered over and not as much splash gets in. If you tip it is when water gets to be an issue (don't ask me how I know). Don't know if the folding kayak would do very well in this type of stream. Might be perfect for the Susquehanna though. Maybe you need two kayaks. 😃 Your shirt was probably the cause of the blister this time, but I have found that I tend to grip the paddle too tightly and that can cause them also. After watching this video, I can't wait to put into the Susquehanna next year. Maybe we will see you out there.

Love Deer Creek! I've seen it at Rocks, Palmer, and tomorrow my Susquehanna State Park video drops 👍 (also have a Havre de Grace video coming). Great kayak info! Having a portable Oru would get me using it more, and a lot of use would be in calm state park lakes... Maybe the solution is to then rent beefier boats for more challenging courses? $15/hour from Shank's Mare was very reasonable. So I grip pencils, hockey sticks, and kayak paddles too tight... Checks out! Thanks for the information and for watching, Davises!

Really, really looking hard at an @OruKayak Inlet for the portability and light weight. I really want to try one first though to check the durability. Thanks for watching, Whoa!

I seen someone with one of those at Speedwell Forge. My opinion, prob okay for calm waters, maybe not rivers, not sure how they would do if your rock scraping the bottom going down the Schuykill. Stay away from Dolphin because tend to leak and not live up to their weight standards. I bought two lemons and went I approached the company to honor their limited warranty, they gave me a hard time. I seen a ton of blow up yaks this summer on lakes, very popular. The market is saturated with choices, good luck making one.
