Great video and maps! How did you get back upstream? Did you take 2 vehicles or is there a shuttle? Thanks

Two vehicles, one parked at water-users and one parked at Phon D or recently we have been going all the way down to Granite Reef.

Did you bring two vehicles and just leave one parked at the end of your destination?

Yep two vehicles. We have a Thule rack on our car which we take the kayaks up to Water Users and we leave our truck at Phon D or Granite Reef at the end.

Did you rent the kayak or you own it? How deep is the lake? Is Pebble Beach recreation park nearby? I'm planning to go there in October 7 . Thanks

We own our Kayaks but there are several places in Mesa to rent Kayaks. Redline Rental on Mckellips is about 20 minutes from the salt river. This is a flowing river, not a lake. The depth of the river is dependent on the water flow and location on the river. It can be as low as barely deep enough for the kayak to float over, to many feet deep (not sure exactly how deep the deep areas are). Pebble beach recreation area is just before you get to the bridge, on the river, in the video, just south of Water Users recreation area where we dropped in the Kayaks. Yes very close. I heard a discussion today that the river flow may be significantly reduced starting October 2nd. I could not find any information on it this evening, so I could not confirm it but you may want to search Tonto National Forest, Salt River flow rates and see if you can find any info to confirm the rumor and whether it will impact your plans.

Just heard an update from a Kayaking site we belong to, that the planned water flow reduction has supposedly has been pushed out one week from October 2nd to October 7th. I don't know any more details. Sorry.
