Awesome vid thanks. I have a sea eagle explorer kayak and was wondering if I could do this run after some practice in it. It looks real similar to yours.

You can. My buddy used to run the section in his sea eagle all the time. He'd have a flip or two every now and again but nothing too harsh. It's fun!

Ironic you say that. We used to do this section of the American in the Intex Explorers all the time. I just never took any video. It was a good time.

Awesome man. Just grabbed the Star Raven II. You still like it? Any tips for Kayaking south fork? I'm trying to run it in about a month.

I'd start with Coloma to Greenwood creek, then move up from there to Chilli bar or lower gorge section. Watch out for the bigger rapids; trouble maker, satins, and hospital bar. You'll surely get flipped if you don't take the right line. But the whole thing is pretty safe even if you have to swim. Just be sure to wear a pfd.

Very cool! About how long does it take from Coloma to Folsom Lake?

It kind of depends, but anywhere from 4 - 7 hours depending on your speed and breaks.

The red one is an old school bandit by nrs. The blue one is a raven ii by star. But star was brought by nrs a few years back.
