You're a beast! 7AM start, all that riding and paddling with the only food to look forward to is mushy oats, then raw veggies and sandwich. THEN still have to ride home with the kayak in tow. Man.. you're a trooper. Salute to you soldier.

Thanks! It was a pretty memorable day. Maybe you were already aware of this, but I always include a link in the video description to the Strava activity associated with my adventures. This lets you see the exact line tracked by my GPS on a map that you can zoom in on, similar to google maps.

Amazing adventure! Loved seeing all the wildlife. I've ridden to Mississauga along thr lake many times, but have never seen the waterfront quite like this.

Thanks! Believe it or not, in all these years I've actually never ridden my bike on the waterfront as far as Port Credit, only Lakefront Promenade Park. It was nice getting to see some familiar scenery as well as lots of new scenery.

Nice video Christopher! That was a good long paddle you did that day! It's eat to see some of the waterfront around that area. The only thing I was familiar with was the little lighthouse at Port Credit, as my family drove by that once on our way to a funeral.

This was a very memorable day of paddling for me and I recommend it! Be sure to wait patiently though for a day when there is virtually no wind. At the beginning of the season I never would have been able to paddle this far, but I gradually worked my way up to longer and longer distances each week.

that is hard! i did the Kalalau water "trail" in Kauaii a few years backin a kayak. 17 miles! we had baby arms afterwards. We were fine the next day.

It was certainly a long day, but I was still in disbelieve at my total distance! My body felt pretty good for the most part, but I've been gradually working up to longer and longer distances each week with the kayak since I got it.

Thanks for documenting your adventure. Does your kayak get pushed around by the wind? It doesn't look like it has much of a keel to keep it going straight. I have larger Sun Expedition kayak but it seems so much heavier than yours, so I can't go far. I want something that can go further but thought a sea kayak was the way to go. Your boat looks like a whitewater kayak but you went 36k. Impressive
@cjhoyle
@cjhoyle 3 жыл бұрын
Thanks. Yes, it's a whitewater kayak, it has no keel whatsoever. Keeping it going in a straight line is the full responsibility of the paddler. It's not a fast kayak. I don't take my speed very seriously and I stop often to take photos and videos. My average speed typically ends up being around 4.5km/hr. I certainly am not using it for its intended purpose, but it's been suiting my needs just fine. I spoke about this in a bit more detail in the video about my kayak trailer kzbin.info/www/bejne/gqq4aoWNopJ1rck

You are a perfect Toronto tour guide. Thumbs up! BTW is gopro 9 worth the money, my budget fits gopro 7, but 9 is a stretch as I got a small channel. Would appreciate some input.

Thanks! I've never owned or used any other model of GoPro so I really can't compare or contrast it. The only main reason I upgraded from the Yi 4k+ camera was that the image stabilization on it was not very effective. It worked fine for bike riding videos but it was useless for trying to film something using a chest or head mount. Other than that, the footage from the two cameras seems pretty similar to me. To be clear though, all the clips in this video you commented on were filmed using a smartphone.

@@cjhoyle Thanks for the reply. Filming with the smartphone was on my mind, but it seemed kind of dangerous. I grabbed the gopro 8 today on sale in costco. Very happy with it. Thanks again.
