Kayhan Kalhor lost his father, mother and brother in the war between Iran and Iraq when he was just a teenager. As an Iranian musician, I can always feel the traces of grief in his music. He’s admired in Iran not only because of his musical talent, but also for choosing to be a messenger of peace rather than hatred after what he went through. He chose an instrument, not a gun.

Roudaki of Kabul 1200 years ago, was the first poet in Persian that even today we understand and enjoy. there very few languages in the world that has poetry from 1200 years ago and in such a large volume.
