can we all give credit and appreciation to Kayla and all stay at home moms (or moms in general)?🥺I feel like ppl assume it’s easy for stay at home moms bc they don’t go to “work” but being a mom is a 24/7 job. Also a first time mom here, just a tip when it comes to feeding: when babies turn their head, swat at your hand, push back in their high chair, or push the food out of their mouth, that’s the baby telling you they’re full and are done eating. Listening to those cues will help lessen the chance of food anxieties, pickiness, or overeating that can happen later on as she ages :) I tend to feed solids ~1 hour after nursing, otherwise my baby is too full and won’t want to eat. Also with feeding, gagging is okay! They’re getting used to textures and gagging is also the baby’s natural function to keep from choking. Letting them play with their food let’s a baby familiarize themselves with the taste, texture, and smell of food without pressure. If they don’t like a certain food the first time they try it, reintroducing it on another day has been shown to help. Just some tips that I’ve been shown along the way, hope it helps!

As she gets older, paying attention to such indications will help her avoid food phobias, pickiness, and overeating. As a nine-month-old, some wonderful foods to give her include... (ordered) Bananas, soft pears, peaches, watermelon, cantaloupe, and strawberries are examples of fruits. Broccoli, carrots, green beans, and sweet potatoes, softly cooked Eggs, soft-cooked or ground beef, tofu, smashed beans, and low-mercury fish are all good sources of protein. Avocado, fish, olive oil, and nut butters are all good sources of healthy fats.
