Backing a 53 for dry van trailer is a feeling you got to feel it! My best advice whoever reading this learn all the basics and make it you're own do what's best for you cause everyone back's differently.
@Mike_Greentea2 жыл бұрын
Pro tip for beginners. After your set-up and you start backing as SOON as you see the trailer not going where you want it STOP!. pull up as far as you can and turn left if you're too close to hitting the trailer or turn right but not too long and aggressive if you over shot and try again . Pull up and repeat .

Hey I have been driving for 20 years now and I appreciate you sharing this. I just wanted you all to know that always try to make backing easy for yourself. I try my best to make a 45 degree back a straight line back if I have the space to get under the trailer. Try your best to avoid obstacles like other trucks around your cab if you can. Backing is the hardest skill to learn in trucking. Thank you for helping the students out here

At the end that day i almost wanted. When i got home and went on youtube i seen your video; this one i'm committing on of course. I after i saw how you were doing the driving and them backup and how easy you made them look, i new right way i can do it too. Well that's what i did, and today i have my class a cdl. You are really close to those amazon trailers.. this technique would be very difficult in a truck stop or some where super tight.. a way to prevent that is to line yourself up with the second trailer next to your spot not the first then turn out to the middle.. should be at a 45 degree… good luck though driver.

My thing is getting used to the direction of where to turn the wheel so I can guide the rear of the trailer within sight of the drivers side mirror and what direction to go to be in sight of the passenger side mirror. Correct me if I’m wrong. But if I turn the steering wheel to the RIGHT then the rear of the trailer should come in view of the drivers side, is that correct? And if I want my passenger to see the rear of the trailer from their side then I turn the steering the wheel to the left. I know I have to actually be in a in the cab of a semi to get the feel of it. But I wanna get the science down first, so it becomes less of a headache.
