Bait Preparation - Commercial Silver Fish

After the last video looking at terminal tackle and what i use on silver fish matches at the oaks, equally if not more important is what bait you use and how to prepare it. I go through livebait right through to groundbait and pellets and how each play a part in my fishing.
The main baits I take with me are
groundbait - Sonu baits drak F1 and thatchers
maggots
pellets
castors

Always handy to have a bit of info on prep. With a memory like mine, it becomes almost essential. Concentrating was hard, your Koi are a magnificent distraction.

I don't fish commercials, mainly silver fish canals, large lake's and reservoirs but always watch the great videos you do and take the information you give with me, keep them up and tight line's.

Enjoying the videos Kayleigh keep them coming…question. I’m looking at using small amounts of ground bait with loads of attraction this winter on a carp specimen lake it needs to be quite heavy with depths around 13ft to 15ft and be able to spomb the balls out.something that will bind together with casters maggots corn etc….

Would you sieve your groundbait at when it's cold?... Top video as, always, them carp behind you were looking at that food!!!....

Yes I do when it gets really cold but it’s pretty fine mix anyway so don’t bother while it’s still mild 👍

Hi, Kayleigh. Great advice. I’d like to ask a question regarding groundbait prep. I know some people like to prepare their groundbait on the bank as you’re using the lake water. I’m guessing this doesn’t make a difference to your fishing? Hope that doesn’t sound daft. Thanks.

Yes I don’t think tap water makes a difference personally, I do it on the bank when roach fishing as the mix is more active than if you do it night before

When you was explaining about cutting out the groundbait in January time. Was you referring to cutting out fish meal? I just thought f1 dark was fishmeal based. Sorry for the confusion.

Yes f1 dark barely has any fishmeal in while thatchers is a strong fishmeal so I just reduce the fishmeal content the colder it gets 👍

on natural venues I do it like this for for bream but I prefer to do it on the morning for roach so the groundbait is a bit more active, and a non fishmeal mix for this (river and black roach normally)

Can you mix groundbaits the night be for your match and just leave it outside in your bucket in the shed??

Yes should be fine through winter with it been cold
