Kayn's killing really needs to be flashier. Like changing the arena into a shadowrealm of some sort or coat it in red, spawn a scythe behind each player and let them kill us, maybe even all at once as they return to him through us. This currently looks just awkward, I kinda wish it was skippable, or maybe give him a cutscene like the chibis but something needs to be added to it

I think this is a pretty good encounter to add. Weren’t a ton of people complaining about the meta being open forting and then coming roaring back late game? This makes that a TON riskier for those gold focused players- forces people to actually care early game.

Yeah for the 1/100 games you'll see it. It's so infrequent that none of the points you made matter at all. The game needs things like this happening in half your games to revitalize it, games felt stale for 5 sets now.

as hyper roller, having a kayn time limit is not completely new, since at certain point player damage was just 20 (aka all health) which force ended the game anyway.

As an Easter egg, you should have if you are in first place and the last round before kayn, you sell board only have kayn, and are still in first place he shouldn’t kill you, gives you a voice line or something

I like this idea a lot freshens it up but I worry people when they encounter enough times will get fatigued and not bother sticking around in the game if they know they won’t end in a certain position. I personally would quite like the idea that going into the final PVP round your score no longer appears so when you go into the final encounter you have no idea where you’ll be finishing ( for the most part). Adds some spicy suspense

If anything dmg wise I feel exalted 5 should be a bit better right now, that way you can actually start seeing crazy comps coming from it more often, because right now you just go a big meta comp and if you are lucky Exalted champs fit in it great, if not, you can just ignore the mechanic.

i like the idea of pushing people out of the gold focused play style, but i kinda dislike the Kayn killing some body first just bcs their HP is lower than the others, it should've been AFK for the rest of the match and you watch your final placement fights, and maybe add a quick leaving button for those who don't want to watch. I think that would be more ideal, but i love that you and the team bring these new ideas to the game, thanks a lot Mort

I had this encounter today, managed to stay Mr 100 all game. It was a little unsatisfying having the game cut short. Still a good encounter in the end

I had one Kayne game, and 3 people were already out by then. It probably doesn't affect things that much.

I can't even remember how many matches I had where I was below 10 HP while first place guy was 100 HP and ended up going 1st place. Kayn basically makes this impossible and turns TFT into tempo paradise where everyone plays aggressive.

Hey Mort. I think it would be amazing to have an encounter or portal that makes the games go longer. It would be the opposite of a Kayn game, where players really focus on getting the best possible lategame comps online. Often times the games are over before you even hit your 5 cost 2 stars. I think having a lobby of 5 players go to stage 6 and beyond would be super interesting every once in a while. When you really think about it, it just makes sense, doesn't it. I think the Kayn encounter is great, and this would be just as cool.

I know this'll probably be quite a rare encounter, but I'd suspect this will be among my favorites. I much prefer navigating the early and mid-game to the end-game.

The only tacticians with execute animations are the Chibis with skins. Sona and Sett don’t have them, for instance, but Guqin Sona and Heartsteel Sett do have them.

Fluft of poro have execute animation, so on in another tactician with star grade (even it doesn't chibi tactician skin), why pengu doesn't have?

​@@joborid4169 The rare Chibi-Champions with a 1% drop chance out of loot Boxes have special finishers. Fluff of Poro was one of them. The pengu has no special finisher because he is a "little legend" and not a "rare chibi".

I’d rather Kayle be a mob boss that is really hard to kill, but if you have a strong board you can either beat him or weaken him enough to where you don’t die.

To be fully honest the kayn encounter won’t be my cup of tea. I like tft being played without time or stage limits. That being said I still love this game and it is not like I would despise it for it. Fortunately I won’t encounter it super often due to the rarity of it.

I'm not a huge fan of the idea of the encounter. For me, if I'm win streaking, I still want to build my best board and if I'm loose streaking, I want the chance to make a comeback. I clicked play game for a reason, I don't want an encounter that takes that away from me. Just my opinion though, still looking forward to the new set and trying out all the encounters.

Hey Mort this is a beautiful Set in TFT but some of the charaters are just too similar to each other,like Gnar and Rek'Sai, whaen player put them to the board and look at thier back, it's really hard to define them Also, cards like Diana Soraka, Janna they got similar outlook and traits, not saying those 1,2 stars card with similar outlook and traits too

I love the idea of this encounter. I know there are a lot of changes coming and probably already thought of it, but I think it would be cool if the killing animation was kayn's W or Q to kind of make it more visually impacting. However the pure idea of having kayn killing players one by one is amazing!

I really like the idea of an early ending with the fixed standings, because it's just sickening people going all-in trading health for gold and then winning on 10 HP the entire lobby like they did with Heartsteel this set. You can whine all you want, loss streakers, I won't ever accept your arguments about how managing HP into gold is also an essential skill in TFT.

Kinda funny how this was broken day 1. Like broken as in it didnt end the game 😂 Had 1 kayne game, game didnt end, 3rd place player hit the Wukong 3 star a round after the game was supposed to end and proceeded to take the win.

Sorry to be a downer, and this is just feedback; but the encounter mechanic is missing something. It's neither very engaging nor fun. You guys should make it more special (make the effects more impactful, and more diverse for every player). In addition, some encounters take way too long, and break the flow of the game. Biggest complain though : too many level 9 and 10 players, too fast. Reverse this XP change, why does the meta have to be like this ; promoting rushing endgame, it's not fun.

Mort. First off. The set is great. Few changes that I have came up with in my 40 or so games. (I’m Plat 4 last Set so you don’t have to pay too much attention) You probably already know this but quite a few of the encounters are bugged, ex. ones that open the armory, kindred only ever offers GS and Redemption (this might be intended but eh just in case) one I got today that is supposed to give (can’t remember) either shop refreshes or gold not everyone got it. Those are the only few i can remember. Disable Salvage Bin on item payout. Please. Udyr needs a nerf only when other people play him mine doesn’t do shit. Irelia 3 probably needs a buff (she couldn’t solo my 6 Umbral lvl 9 board, I don’t remember the other units/traits I had but she had pretty good items) I’m sure you are gonna change some stuff since you talked about it quite a bit this vid but, Storyweaver is already pretty stale imo since 3-5 people play it or try to in all of my games and they all go full red. (I play storyweaver quite often too so kinda hypocritical but I really enjoy 7 SW green. It is awesome when a revived unit clutches up, it’s an awesome concept but I’m the only one I’ve personally seen go for it) Titans feels quite bad this season, and by extension Gargantuan’s. Maybe I just haven’t found the right champ for it the best it felt on was Garen 3 and Yasuo 3. Now for ideas that don’t feel like I’m being a crybaby about initial PBE release patch. Beginning of game portals ideas: Guarantee Encounter portals like, have an encounter appear at stage 1-6 2-5 3-4 4-3 5-2 etc. not like all from one portal but where it sets a stage that you will get an encounter. A portal that forces a Kayn game (the one in the vid not Red/Blue portal) A portal that forces the the other BoG encounters (although I do dislike the Yorick encounter) Im not a programmer or anything of the sort so idk how much effort these would take to implement but I feel like the encounters are kinda just a background feature and don’t happen enough throughout the game/ are impactful enough for the main set mechanic. These are just some things I’ve noticed while playing, that I don’t wanna spam into your twitch chat. Once again, I really do enjoy the set and I appreciate the work the team has put in. Edit: Also to mort or anyone in the comments, how in the hell do you get fortune 7? It doesn’t show me there is an emblem for them. Do you need to get a certain cash out or is it like 4 star Yordles?

I like the effort and all the ideas you put into this! To answer your question on how to get 7 fortune, it is indeed not a craftable emblem so you would need augments like fortune heart or tome of traits to get the emblem.

This set seems fun and all.. but there's one thing I wonder about: Is Riot ever fixing their awful ranked system? Or is it only for for fun players now? League is terrible when it comes to their mmr system, and TFT seems even worse. My 1st places give me 35lp, and my 8th gives me -60? Hello? Why even bother to play ranked when I'm punished for climbing? This is in Emerald/diamond. It's so absurd. Guess I need a new acc because once MMR is locked in you're screwed forever. I got a couple firsts in a row today, no MMR change even though apparently I'm beating players "way above my MMR".. you'd think that's how it works..
