Just bought a 2022 K6 EFI today after watching your channel. Great value compared to brand name bikes. Saved me 5k. Keep it up. Can you help me with the break-in process?

Change oil and Radiator fluid day 1...I run Rotella T-4 oil and I put Engine Ice in the rads....break in wise I normally put them through a couple heat cycles idling for 15-20 minutes...cool down...idle again..cool down...warm up then ride at no more than 3/4 throttle for 15 minutes...while still somewhat warm drain oil. Refill with good oil. After that I just send it. If at all possible don't put ethenol fuel in your bike...try to find non-ethenol 93 octane if you can get it...if not at least don't let fuel sit for more than say a week...the EFI system is very sensitive on that model to clogging with gunk and residue. Good Luck and have fun.

Thanks for the advice... I'm having issues finding neutral while running. Clutch isn't fully disengaging. How do I adjust this. Thanks!

@@colt454 , just search KZbin for how to adjust a cable clutch on dirt bike..you need free play in the lever about the width of a nickle

Cool info! No one out there that reviews bikes for us and actually sends the heads etc out for work, explains what you just did, milling the head, and lapping, never heard of lapping, I get it though, I get porting pretty much too, but would like to learn more about the mechanics of it, as to understand it more clearly.. Would you necessarily need to adjust the ecm/ecu after milling the head, for a bit more compression, would the mill work usually be something like removing 2 or 3mm, do they work out some mind boggling engineering figures to determine how much to mill, or do they have charts, standards... Thanks!

Wow, it can be a lot to explain..and porting and decking are both science and feel/art/magic...simple explanation on porting is matching gasket to port openings, grinding away casting flaws and grinding away metal to increase flow...good shops have flow benches that measure air flow volume....decking a head is removing a small amount to increase compression and level out the mating surface of any imperfections and is different for every application...hope that helps...it's a big subject and not easy to describe easily.

As long as it doesn't break down people will overlook the hp.

7:55 'Nibby' Throttle. Interesting, never heard of it, 1/4 turn + - full throttle.. Does it take about the same effort to turn as a std throttle? I'm not sure I'm ready for it but will keep it on the list, might be the bee's knees.. 👍
@Dirt_Bike_Dave2 жыл бұрын
Yep, it does take a little more than 1/4 turn...same effort as stock...only works with K6-R...NOT the EFI version.

It's a Bitch..Gotta take off seat and tank to get to it...you also need a thin walled swivel socket 16mm and extension.
