Eevee-lutions are a combination of a bunch of cute animals including cats, foxes and corgis. Though there actually was a nuzlock where they wanted to do an all dogs run and ended up ranking the Eevee-lutions on a sliding scale of dog to cat. Can't remember which channel it was but personally I think Espeon is more cat than fox/dog.

For a future video, could you make a hatchling T. rex? According to the latest studies, they were most likely super small and fluffy, with much leaner and daintier proportions compared to the adults. Imagine something like a duckling with an elongated lizard face, a long tail, emu legs, and arms with 2 fingered hands instead of wings. Or maybe just look at the baby rexes from Prehistoric Planet.

Espeon from what i remember is based on a nekomata or the fork-tailed cat from Japanese mythology. They are supposed to be a mix of fox/canine/kind of kitty for the rest of them. Editing to add: okay because people want to argue this with me and point out features. The Japanese made a bobtail cat very long ago because they were afraid of the bakeneko that will eventually turn into the nekomata. Especially if they were decidedly mean to their cat. Stay with me now. The cat's tail would grow over time in its lifetime it is said in the myth. Eventually they become a bakeneko or a very long tailed cat. They can be benevolent and kind. Oh how they can be kind but if you were mean or cruel they will also be cruel. After a while their tail will split down the middle and eventually they will have two tails. This would make them a nekomata like the split tail look of Espeon. THIS is why I think it's a mix of fox and nekata.

I only know Pokemon by proxy (I have three children ranging from 25 to 11 and they all loved them some Pocket Monsters), but Eevee and her eeveelutions have always first reminded me of foxes. I do love folklore, and a lot of the eeveelutions remind me of Kitsune. However, Espeon makes me think of the two tailed cat yokai Nekomata. Staying with the fox theme though, fennec foxes are adorable and the ones that I've seen as pets kinda remind me of forever-kittens with their spazzy energy and antics.

Eevee and the eeveeloutions are usually accepted to be based off of either a fox (Eevee, Jolteon, Umbreon) or a cat (Espeon, Glaceon, Flareon, Vaporeon), depending on the form. Eevees are most closely similar to that of cats but could be argued they are a mix of cat, rabbit and fox.
