The first congress of Hungarians and Kazakhs (from the Madiar clan) was held in 2007 in the Torgai steppe of Kazakhstan.
The following summer, Hungarians led by anthropologist András Bíró organized a forum in Hungary. The guests of honor were Cossacks from the Madiar tribe.
