The firing range part reminds me of that story I heard once about a tank crew that was so efficient with their loading and firing that they accidentally launched a shell over the mountain they were targeting due to the rocking of the tank. Fun facts about the Type 74 Main Battle Tank: The Type 74 was the first Japanese MBT to feature a Hydropneumatic suspension system (featured at 1:00), meaning the tank can lean forward, back, left, right, or reasonable combinations of directions. This allows Japanese tanks from the Type 74 onwards to use what is called a "hull down" position, which is a tactic where the tank uses the top of a hill as cover, only exposing the cannon, for maximum survivability typically in tank on tank engagements, which in a country filled with hills like Japan, would be extremely effective for defense. This tactic is highly needed as the Type 74 is somewhat lightly armored in order to cross bridges and retain a high level of mobility. The Type 74 is the first Japanese produced tank to feature a stabilized gun, which helps it fire accurately on the move. The rounds fired at 5:31 are likely HEAT rounds, which stand for High Explosive Anti-Tank, which uses directed explosives to create a plasma jet that cuts through armor and burns through anything on the other side.

Noticed the vehicles used there are mainly old types that are probably not in service anymore. Type 74 tanks if i'm not mistaken. Build by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries. 893 units were produced between September 1975 and 1989 if I recall correctly. Japans current tank would be Type 10, perhaps a few remaining Type 90's. So, would this be some sort of museum? I can't really see anything modern except for the motorbike.
