He is our greatest living master. I’ve heard this piece a ton. And I’ve taught this piece a ton. NO ONE is as intentionally expressive TO THE INTENTION OF THE MUSIC ITSELF, than this guy. Throughout his whole career he takes pieces others are famous for and says “THIS is this pieces’ meaning.”

A stunningly beautiful and nuanced performance. For Yamashita, playing is a whole-body experience. His movement mirrors the dynamic range and spirit with which he executes the music. It boggles my mind that some have a hard time with that, and want to find fault in it. I think they must be so daunted by his confident and consistent artistry that they can't help but find something to degrade in it. He's a great artist and we are so lucky to have him. He’s like the Tommy Emmanuel of classical guitar! When he moves the guitar in and away from the center, gravity of his body, he’s actually using the airspace between the back of the guitar and his stomach to change, ever so subtly, the EQ of the music. He’s not playing the guitar with his hands, he’s playing his guitar with his entire body
He feels it at 4:31. Look at how he lets out the note.

With the age he downsided his virtuosity, became really transcendental. Wonderful rubato, colorful register and wide range of dynamic.
