Opposite for me. Elite Smash Kazuya’s until you reach near max gsp, are dog water at the game. They get out neutrals by my characters and then by the time they get in once, they are so tilted they drop the combo. I’m impressed if the Kazuya gets one hit after the EWGF.

As soon as they skipped battles for all CPU’s except Kazuya, I knew it was over. If you don’t know, CPU’s actually improve over the course of a tournament, but only if you watch their matches. Otherwise, the game just determines a winner for each game randomly, which gives a huge advantage to the CPU’s you’ve previously spectated when you reach the later games of the tournament. That paired with the fact that Kazuya’s CPU is already really good is likely what made him so dominant at the end. If they had actually watched every game, my money would have been on Byleth to take everything. That CPU goes crazy against other CPU’s in particular.
