They completely omitted Aishwarya. The second citizen behaviour that a daughter in law faces in a typical Indian household is so regressive and unfair. Aishwarya rai never received the respect of a self made women that she is in the bacchan family. Where only males are allowed to rise and accomplish no matter how undeserving/incompetent they are . Women are expected and conditioned to stay out of lime light and domesticated irrespective of their talent and capabilities. Never seen the bachhans applaud or acknowledge Aishwarya on any of their social media accounts but he keeps on bragging about the dismal performances of other bacchans. So dont glorify him. He is the patriarch of such a feudal and repressive traditions and should be ashamed of that.

This is such a serious allegation but i wonder if the problem is that she couldnt produce a male heir to the bacchan legacy. I feel like Aishwarya had been bearing with the north indian stinking patriarchy for so long but projecting Agastya Nanda as the heir apparent would have been a deal -breaker, and rightfully so!! Jaya bacchan herself becomes a big feminist but she is nothing but a typical frustrated mother in law , who wishes contentment by burdening her daughter-in-law with her own sufferings, by seeing her daughter-in-law abiding by the regressive/patriarchal family norms that she did in her time. But she would be gaining nothing but just breaking her son's home. Aishwarya is a new age women, independent , talented and with spine. I am glad she stood for herself, broke away from regressive bacchan family for her daughter's sake . But unfortunately she has to fight this battle alone.
