2009 truly is the golden year of kpop

This is so nostalgic it made me cry :( My 16 yo era, listening to k-pop all day, dreaming to one day go to a concert, but thinking it'd be impossible unless I go all the way to Korea and feeling very sad about it and very jealous of Korean fans, but then spent a lot of time daydreaming with my friends and trying to learn the choreographies. Please bring me back to this year 😭😭

Same I started listening in 2009 and I'd practice the dances in my room after school. No one ever knew what kpop was when they asked what my favorite music is. I wish I could go back and go to the first kcon when i had the chance.

Gee Gee was the first K-pop song i ever heard. I remember back in day when it was released i was driving my car and on radio this song was played. It was really catchy. I came home and search gee gee and found the best Kpop group. Till today Girls Generation will always be no.1 for me.

It's so much fun as a singer to sing live. I don't understand the new artists wanting to rely on backtrack. If you don't want to sing, don't be a singer. Simple. There are plenty of other jobs available

The best era is Kpop to ever exist! I miss my wonderful childhood. Back then only real kpop fans existed and bullies works laugh when we listened to songs they couldn’t understand. Today I’ve left kpop but back then nobody would know I was the biggest kpop follower.Amazing music, beautiful young faces, talent and skills. No fancy expensive sets or visual effects. Just greatness all the way! Back then I was a child and today I’m a doctor. Thankyou to this golden era if kpop that helped me get through all the tough times. You’ve always been there for me.

Believe me their style is the coolest style for kpop in that era ❤😂 I'm a second gen kpop fan I've been through it all 😂❤even super junior's style in their debut era!! 😂❤ And so many countries copying kpop's style back then, many countries make their own girl group and boy group that's singing+dancing and have that kpop style!!! In my country alone in south east Asia, there were like 5+ boy group and girl group with kpop style. Haha hallyu wave is real! ❤

K-Pop was just so full of raw talent, passion and charisma! I think we as K-pop consumers sometimes forget what K-pop really was, we want perfection, intricate choreographies, amazing singing stability... Don't get me wrong, I am a dancer myself, I enjoy so much dancing and one of the things that got me into K-pop were choreographies (I discovered it in 2011) but nowadays, it is too much. Idols can't sing and dance with that complex and tiring choreographies, they have to be so concentrated on that, that they seem to forget to enjoy the stage and connect with their fans. Here it is, raw passion, charisma, simple and catchy choreography and vocals full of imperfections but 100% live and mostly stable. I wish we could go back to being a good K-pop consumers and stop searching for perfection and start searching for fun, as it used to be.

I remember those days that 2NE1 just debuted who already dominated the charts and their seniors lol. I miss those days that every kpop group can actually sing with mic on with no backtracks even main rappers is a great vocalists as well.

Just the first three shows how Kpop was so much more fun back then, different styles were able to dominate at the same time. Also, the vocals can be clearly heard and the MR were so low volume compared to now where even when the idols do sing live, it's hard to tell

No lip-lync, it's open-mic! Can Gen 2 sing and dance LIVE? Absolutely! It's hardwork and talent, not just looks. Hardly any of the Gen 3, 4 or 5 groups can do that anymore -- they are even afraid of winning music awards since they will need to sing encore ... which they fail badly ... shame.
