YAY! Since Dish Network dropped KBS World and before that KBS World in the USA dropped 인간극장, I haven't been able to see the show. However, I'm so happy KBS World is still posting the show here on KZbin!!! Thank you so much! I helps me with my Korean and let's me see such beautiful parts of Korea and peoples lives. This is such a quality show. 고맙습니다!!! Subscribed!

Was really annoying that cable channels wouldn't carry Korean channels back in the day. Satellite was the only option except in LA.

Miwol is a very admirable woman, independent, successful and kind. She's worked for everything she has. It's ironic that great women like this are usually single/living alone. And her daughter-in law is super pretty, she's Japanese right? She doesn't look Korean and her name Hitomi sounds Japanese too.

Everyone seems to admire Miwol for her success in business but they don't seem to realize that she probably works 14 hours a day. She left her children for 20 years in Korea. Although she makes lots of money now she doesn't seem like a happy person and she can't buy back the time she spent away from the children.

I was curious if someone could help me out with why the "Japanese yam" was being pronounced "Ma" (just like "potato") and yet the caption was Japanese yam and not Japanese potato? Just a case of them using yam as a replacement word for potato I presume? Thanks.
@littlemisshowei10 жыл бұрын
I think it could be that in some places, yam is used for potatoes (or its variants). Where I'm from we don't use the word yam, we just call it sweet potato. Yam is actually a very broad term that covers many vegetables in the tubers species. So depending on the place, the word yam could be used for a different type of tuber than the 'yam' you are familiar with. Hope this helped a little :).

That might have been the time that everyone stopped showing regular shows for a while in light of the tragic ferry accident. A lot of celebrities and popular channels stopped promotion and some shows to pay respect to the ones who lost their lives and their families mourning them.
Screening Humanity | 인간극장 - Tokyo's Kimchi Mama, part 1 (2014.05.05) kzbin.info/www/bejne/hZOoqn2af56baLM Yun Miwol has succeeded in Japan with her kimchi business. Not only that, she opened up two Korean restaurants in Ginja, one of the richest parts in Tokyo. It's very competitive and hard for restaurants to survive but her restaurants have been doing fine. She opened them to let Japan know more about Korean food. As a result, she had to be separated from her children. But starting 3 years ago, her kids moved to Japan and they've been helping out with Miwol's business. One day, Miwol visits her son's house and her daughter-in-law is crying alone.
