What an admirable and great mom and grandma. Taking care of special children needs love, patience, understanding and attention. Teach them various skills early to be independent, social and integration with people for their mental and behavioral development. Isolation is their WORST enemy. Bring them outside and mingle with people are their HAPPINESS. Special children LEARN by being observant and imitator though NOT understanding. I know as I had a special brother.

kate well that's the medical and psychological people call them. I know because I have a retardate brother. My family prefer special than call them retardate, autistic etc.... Because it puts them into name labels. As you mentioned they are in their OWN world so they don't understand what special means. They just want love, attention, care, patience and understanding.

I truly enjoy all the segments with Oh Yoonah and Min. Its so wonderful to see their dynamic and home life as a single mother raising a child with autism. I love that its not overly glossy and perfect or dramatic and edited. It's very rare to see such a unique family on tv that isn't used as drama or shown with this manicured image. Min gets treated like his own person and its such a wonderful sight to see. This is the first time I've seen autism shown on TV that doesn't try to trivialise it with sugarcoated terms and avoidant language. You can see how understanding Yoonah is with Min and doesn't use Min as a virtue signal for herself as a mother. She's really doing great work by increasing the visibility of the neurodivergent community without focusing on herself but on Min's charms and personality.

I think the reason min had so much trouble riding the big bike is because the center of gravity changed too, he was used to where it was on the small bike, so I think the change threw his balance of a bit, he still did awesome though, I love seeing him progress trough out the episodes :)

I tried making yoonah's tuna bread and its so good!!! I only made 1 and only got to take one bite while my brother snatched the rest after i asked him to just taste it. He ran away when i asked him to return it to me!!! My mother didn't even get to take a bite! Oh well, I'll just make some for her later for breakfast. I'm sure she'll also love it.

I'm so glad min can appear of funstaurant and show how amazing, sweet and lovable he is. I know a lot of people on the spectrum and they are the most empathic, thoughtful people I've ever met. Although most of them don't let it show with expression and straight up words, they care deeply about me and their other friends and loved ones.
