But soon, some pictures where she drinks and smokes when she should not do (age: around 15) were revealed by her previous friends. Then th JYP discarded her because at that moment, koreans were not so generous to such behaviors. So she disappeared. I think evenif her songs were good and she waa good at singing, her previous behaviors cannot be easy to be forgivable. It is partially because people who smoke and drink wheh they are very young have an image impling that they bully friends and take their money.

This just shows that talent isn’t always the deciding factor of becoming an idol. Both women are very talented in their own ways, but I believe Hyuna got to where she is today because of her unique personality. Although she’s hated on for being sexy, a lot of fans support her no matter what because she’s bubbly, humble, and down to earth. Not saying the other lady isn’t all those things, it’s just sometimes luck plays a big role in deciding idols...

I think that's the just it, her voice alone is recently captivating. She's the type that can take mediocre range songs and make them sound ethereal. That means longevity in career and sales because every variety show can become her stage as well. You don't want that talent shared amongst a group usually because you HAVE to overshadow the member and split the earnings. I think the reason he told her it was a good idea to "redebut" this way is simply because she's now known, and people will respect her wishes as well as talent. That's genius marketing. From what I've heard she got into a big scandal before debut. It wasn't even a big deal really she just got caught smoking with her boyfriend and knetz dragged her. I think if you knew JOO when she first debuted you'd see how she wanted to be an idol rather than a ballad singer. She always danced in variety shows before when she's asked, and I felt like she was always brighter and happier when she was with the Wonder Girls. Also, the reason she had extended amounts of hiatus was because she has bad stage fright when standing and singing ballads. She was found to be drinking underage and dating when she first debuted, and the people weren't so kind about that before. Now, I feel like idols can get away with that a little bit more. People were really cruel to JOO.

It is not easy to debut as solo artist in SK I guess. At some point, I do believe some of solo artists are known because of their group. They already have fans as they work as a group hence make the fans root for their solo. Not all but most of them. Meanwhile, when you debut in this industry as solo artist, you have to start from zero (what a lonely journey at beginning of your career), which is harder than solo artist that first debut in group then go solo. Sorry for my bad English.

Start 2014, I’d less following Kpop because I’d start my further studies. Right now, i only know that Joo also left JYPe (i think around 2015). And she later appeared in The Unit. And i only watch this just now. You know, watching all those ex-JYP Nation in one show makes me feel very emotional. I just really mad why JYPe never taking care their soloist artists very well. They’re so talented, like SanE and Joo. I just really hate knowing SanE and Joo left the company. But I understand they did that because of their future, and they may think JYPe cannot focus and support them too much because JYPe has lots of groups and artist to handle as well. But i just can’t accept this. “If you cannot handle too much of artists, then don’t take so many trainees, don’t debut so many groups and artist. Focus few only and push their fame to the limit. Just like YG did.” -this is what I’d really thought about all this time 😭 ++ but somehow i really admired how ex-JYP Nation artist can always keep in touch, support and be friend with each other 👍🏻

This is such a cool concept for a show. So many trainees never debut as idols. Since getting into K-Pop I've seen celebrities who've debuted as actors, trot singers, ballad singers, and comedians all with idol trainee as their back story. Hong Jinyoung and Gong Seungyeon are two off the top of my head. This show fulfills those dreams for all these people who've always had it in the back of their mind, or those who've debuted and failed to make a mark as an idol. It adds something extra when they all have a certain amount of experience being a professional entertainer so it's pretty awesome. EDIT: yeah, well I'd change the whole boot thing to something not so dumb. every time they say "booteu" a bird falls to the ground and dies.

Some people are talking about how she is too talented to be in a group. Sometimes its not about the amount of your talent, but what your dream is. She wanted to be in a group, she wanted to have a sisterhood, she wanted to be next to her band-mates on stage. Groups are not "people that cant make it solo" and some people would rather do it together than alone. I feel for her, and that is why Hyuna got so upset. Hyunas path took her down a road this girl DESPERATELY wanted to go but never got the chance. And I think Hyuna feels bad that she experienced something that Joo never got a taste of. Dreams are sometimes sad things that one day you realize its too late to achieve it. My heart goes out to her.
