Ok I'm a SU fan since birth growin' up in SE Louisiana and it has been very very very few times Southern has been against the ropes and this is how they respond?.. by playin' over people, by playin' power songs against old school jams.. I think they just don't know how to play from behind because they usually have the comforts of a lead .. after pv told them to go home you gotta play somethin' so fire that it cements you as king then march the hell out. My personal opinion is PV put hands to southern this day and it's ok, learn ya lesson and move on

Usually su is overrated or underrated because they are such a great unit. Along with JSU and Bethune-Cookman they compete with themselves. For me, they set the bar so high when I see them at 65% of there normal level it makes me feel some type of way and I say they automatically took a L even if there 65% is better than most. On the other hand PV did they thing, they was kickin' on all cylinders, energy, musicality, dynamics, song selection and they had the big dawg mentality. Ey they was ready!!! You right they gameplan was beyond solid!!

PV shut them up. SU got mad because they didn't expect it. Southern won on overall playing. PV won on entertainment (as always) and energy. Overall PV gets the edge because I want a band to entertain me during a game. It's not a competition where you are getting scored. It's about fun and entertainment. Which band makes me get in my feelings and get out of my seat and bust some dance moves. That's what PV does. I do understand the battle thing, but, like I said, ENTERTAINMENT wins out in the end.

For the record....one of Prairie Views band directors is from the JUKEBOX!! I know because I was there with him! He's a fanominal writer and his interpretations are highly recognizable for those who have played his arrangements. Trust me on this one KB. Even as a student, he wrote some of our show arrangements but mostly our stand music. He was at Bama State for a min but ended up at PV and their program sounds much better for it.
