Incredible performance, however, Ronnie I think is feeling, perfectly understandably, the effects of age and he knows that he was hitting the ball better a few years ago with less effort. The 5 tons against Carter in 2007 in a best-of-9 springs to mind. He is arguably more consistent now but it takes more out of him which he is finding difficult to reconcile himself with. For me, the way he hit the ball in the 2012 World Championship was his peak physical and mental performance.

O'Sullivan is highly regarded in the sport, with several of his peers regarding him as the greatest player ever,[54][55][56][57][58] and some labelling him a "genius".[59][60] After losing 6-17 to O'Sullivan in the 2008 World Championship semi-final, Hendry described him as "the best player in the world by a country mile".[61] In 2024, Hendry agreed that there was no longer any question as to whether O'Sullivan was the greatest snooker player of all time, also calling him an "artist"

@@AlastairBarker retired because he was finished at 42. Ronnie threw at least 10 prime years away and still has more titles and is still world number 1 at 48. Totally different level. If Hendry himself admits Ronnie is better i think i'll listen to him over you pal.

@johnwedgbury68175 ай бұрын
If ronnie had the mentality of hendry he wouldn't be as good as he is. Would have peaked for 8 or 9 years. Ronnie's a maverick, one off and his unstable mind is what makes him so talented. You can't be a genius and a robot at the same time. 48yo and doesn't look like deteriorating any ti e soon.
