Hey Jamel (aka Jamal!), if you wanna see the ultimate horn section dancing, you gotta check out the Tower Of Power live medley of three of their hits recorded in 1977. The sax player's (Lenny Pickett) dancing at ~2:20 is worth the price of admission! 😂 Plus, TOP is just the tightest band you'll ever here. I'll post the link for the video...it's 1970's quality, but definitely good enough to get the point. kzbin.info/www/bejne/bKbPgoOdfqp1d9k

@defmusicman1 I turned 13 in 1980, but I remember the 70s very fondly! I've always been big into music(since my earliest memories), and we were fortunate to have lived before the abomination known as "auto-tune"! I give Jamel tons of credit for jumping down the rabbit hole that is "our" music. I enjoy his reactions, because he is SO into the music, which is the way it's supposed to be!

Love the reaction Jamel. That's what we "old folks" like to call "a groove". Those dudes don't just play the horns. They're freaking synchronized with their dance moves! This whole band is making a statement. We're "bad" and we know it! I loved all of the 70's big bands like KC and the Sunshine Band, with all the different instruments in the mix: Lakeside, Commodores, George Clinton and P-Funk, and Earth, Wind, and Fire. After this, now I need to hear, "Do a little dance. Make a little love. Get Down Tonight! Get Down Tonight!"

I am 60 years old and I can tell you music was awesome in the 60s 70s and 80s. KC and the Sunshine band was one of many amazing groups but you can see how much fun they had while performing so it had to be a great job to have because he put out some incredible songs. You can see the black influence in a lot of his music and you can see it throughout the 60s 70s and 80s and without the black influence as a white man I will say music would not have been what it was or is without that influence. You can see it with Daryl Hall and John Oates and so many other performers. I'm so happy to see KZbin being used to put out all of these great songs from my childhood and after because people that often listen to it remark how they wish they could have lived during that time. Keep the music alive. 🎉

Got 3 hours of sleep, went to work, came home, got our dancing clothes on and danced all night! I actually met KC when I worked downtown. There was a black radio station on the floor above the law firm I worked at and he got in the elevator with me! One of the nicest people you could ever know! The radio station just did an interview with him about his music and how it related to EVERYONE at the time! Jamel, my friend, you were born in the wrong era! You would have loved the 70s! My 6’4 husband played bass in a band when I met him in 1973, and he wore shiny leather platform shoes and a tux with ruffle shirts. He had curly hair that he would pick out like an Afro. Crazy, fun days! I’m 5’1 and he took off his shoe to dance with me...still being over a ft taller! My husband has passed, but I still have his platform shoes, and lots of memories.
