KCBQ was my beach station. Growing up in Carlsbad in the 60-70’s Karl FM and KCBQ were the stations that provided me with my soundtrack. I was 13, ( September 73) when my family moved from Carlsbad to Lake of the Ozarks. Went from the jocks at KCBQ to the hourly farm report with Rock only being played between 6-8pm, on KRMS AM. Hearing these past air checks brings back soooo many great memories.

Remember hearing Satisfaction on KCBQ early 70's being blasted in Belmont Park where my first coaster ride was on the Big Dipper, @ the time called 'Roller Coaster'. So glad they restored it...too bad the entire park couldn't be saved. Great time for a 10 yr old!
