Truth is Beck is awesome and a great Studio producer, but you're absolutely correct, it's not live like you might think. Yes they're playing their own instruments and yes that is singing but it's all very processed, back is singing through a very light auto-tune that increases his voice buy a half step to get in tune if he's a little Out Of Tune so it doesn't sound like Auto-Tune but there's something in your brain says this doesn't sound quite right. I've seen them live and it was a big disappointment to be quite honest with you. It sounded very processed and unnatural much like this does and he always sounds. To me back should be spending 95% of his time in the recording studio much like Brian Wilson.
