I've been listening to all her albums recently, her evolution as an artist is noticeable. In the beginning she was doing some experimentation, but she's very young and it was already incredible being so young, pure talent

When I first listened to Adele on KCRW, I remember thinking this was a voice I never heard before. When photos were posted of the session, I thought she was not going to have an easy time of it. Remember, the top female performers back then were Brittany & Christina. I'm so glad Adele proved me wrong. Saw her 3 of the 4 times she performed in L.A. I was priced out the last time.

Adele emerged in the late '00s. Christina's imperial phase was long done, and Britney was entering her now- (thankfully) terminated conservatorship, and hadn't yet staged her comeback with Circus. The big artist around this time was Katy Perry. Regardless, Adele was a diamond in the rough. You can tell she was extremely timid and reserved when performing around this time, compared to now where she's really good at looking comfortable on stage, and isn't afraid to stop a performance mid-song if she feels she has bummed it too much.

So brilliant! At only 19 years old... So innocent and pure too. Love you now, love you then, Adele.

I love 19!! The first song I heard from Adele was Hometown Glory. I watched a couple dance to it on SYTYCD and I was immediately take by her voice and the minor chords in that song. Next day I went out and bought her CD and have been a fan ever since. I hope one day to see her live 🙏🏽

I remember seeing this young girl with an incredible whiskey voice singing on a radio station show in a hoodie. I later learned that was Adele and was not surprised a bit by her success. I feel it was the same radio station but havent been able to find the exact video, it would have been the same time frame as this minus maybe a year or so.

You can hear KCRW anytime, anywhere with their free livestream available through their website. Just because you moved away, it is still possible to listen in. (And I am sure that they would be very happy to accept a donation no matter where you are -- if you are so inclined.)

She needs to go back to being more authentic like this instead of having pop producers ruining everything and making the same sounds like every other pop star. She’s the only shining star remaining from that decade
@melinda82 Жыл бұрын
Agree, she's been swallowed by the industry, even worse than Coldplay. But there are still great artists from that decade who remained true to their art, like Paolo Nutini, Damien Rice, Glen Hansard, Gary Lightbody etc. I think she never really loved soul/blues/jazz, she just wanted to be Beyonce, ffs.
@michaels29954 жыл бұрын
Damn she's lost so much weight since then. She looks much better now tbh
@areyoued61203 жыл бұрын
what do u mean? she literally looks beautiful back then and now
@NancyHanson347210 ай бұрын
She has also had quite a bit of plastic surgery, I believe. (Not judging here. Nothing wrong with it if your career success will improve with it, and maybe give you more self confidence.)
