Seinabo is partly talking about her father who passed in this song. When she says "flowers cross the sea", she is playing on her last name "sey", which is pronounced as "sea" . But while she lightly references her father being dead, I still interpret this song to mean burying a love (romantic) that is no longer healthy, a love that has soured.....when one person loves the other but the other doesn't love them back, or being abused by your spouse, being hurt. I think this song is an overall ode to loved ones lost, whether it be from mutual understanding, death or pain. Burial is symbolic to loss of close, heartfelt relationships, forever. My interpretation.

Great interpretion! I really like your idea. I thought kind of in the same direction, but I didn't know her father passed away. Thank you very much :)

I fell in love with this song in September and then my dad died in December, two days before Christmas. I truly believe this song prepared me for the storm in so many ways & I listen to it on the regular to remind me to just let it be. This song means everything to me❤️❤️
