Further proof that music is the art form most closely tied to emotions, electronic music pioneers Underworld's new release feels like reconnecting with an old friend. Barking is their eighth studio album and their first in three years, making for a welcome return from guys who have been recording together for 30 years. Join them on Morning Becomes Eclectic. Watch / Listen to the full session here: www.kcrw.com/mu...

Remember being at the V festival. it was one of those awkward moments where yer mates wanted to see another band but you wanted to see your band. Being strong willed and headstrong, paid off for me, will always be one of our greatest attributes....;) Rock and rock'n roll......................

What is this equipment/instrument that allows him to control the pitch he's singing through the guitar?
@rhythmace1
@rhythmace1 7 жыл бұрын
Vocoder. A microphone provides the "modulator" signal and another sound source provides the "carrier" signal, and the vocoder combines them. He's either using the guitar signal as the carrier, or using the guitar to control a synthesiser which is the carrier signal, via a MIDI pickup that you can just about see on the guitar.

Underworld have always managed to take me away somewhere, from Rez/Cowgirl onwards, just the way they built their sound.! I saw them live the night Kurt Cobain died, they announced it before they came on, and just stood there and said “For Kurt” and launched into Rez, but with no crazy dancing

"He's smiling, but he ain't happy", as they say. In fact he looked pretty damn frustrated that the CD wasn't patched in/faded up when he triggered it. He's trying to start it from 4:28 and it's *fifty* seconds later before tech slowly strolls over to see what's going on. Impressed at how Karl tries a number of things in the meantime like reinserting & recueing the CD, but would love him to have just recited that bit himself! I wonder if there's another live studio version of this amazing song?
