Long ago I worked as an out-of-state volunteer for VCF trying to get a grant to have classical music appreciation taught in the public school curriculum. Leonard Cohen himself said after hearing KD Lang perform "Hallelujah" for him as he received a songwriting award "Well, I think we can lay that song to rest now! It's really been done to its ultimate blissful state of perfection". That like the ultimate compliment right there he's basically saying that out of the over 300 known cover versions of "Hallelujah" out there he reckons that KD Lang's version is the best.

This is my all time favorite song. Very beautifully done. I've always loved KD Lang's singing and style. Ever since I heard her song, "3 cigarettes in an ashtray". She sang that even better than Patsy Cline did and I thought that would be impossible.
