The backstory of the boy saying that he was her mom. He snuck into a village of only women whose husbands have died and pretended to be a woman. The girl lived close by in a brothel and some abusive man was going to take her so he basically 'adopted' her for her safety and she knew his secret. It's too much to get into but it was a good kdrama to watch.

To be fair, Tharntype (a Thai BL (BoyLove) drama, not a Kdrama) is only 12 55 minute episodes. The second season is coming up soon along with some other dramas for the other popular BL couples on the show, but the original show was pretty short. I have an Unpopular Opinion of Tharntype and I couldn't make it past episode 8. For me, I found Tharn and Type's relationship crazy toxic. But, the drama is well-loved by the rest of the BL fandom. I find it toxic because: 1. Type has issues (M/b raped as a child) and he's pretty messed up because of them, but he ends up punching Tharn a couple of times and Tharn keeps running back to him. 2. At the beginning of the "relationship" between Tharn and Type, Type is a homophobe. He does honestly have his reasons, but holy crap his baggage is hard to watch. 3. There is some unsolicited touching that Tharn does to Type while he's passed out drunk. Not rape, but not good either. 4. Around Episode 8, the guy Tharn had his first sexual experience with appears and he's... frickin' creeeeeeeepy as hell. He is at a birthday dinner with Tharn and Tharn's parents where he keeps describing Tharn (when he first did him) as a little boy (Tharn was 14 when it happened.) It is completely and utterly gross. There are other reasons why I dropped it, but these were my main reasons for hating this particular drama. If you want to see a really good Thai BL drama, try "Until We Meet Again". Not a Highschooler or Engineering student in sight and a beautiful love story that starts with a double suicide and reels you in from there. You can watch the whole drama with English Subs on Line TV's website for free. If you want a pretty shallow story with some "holy crapola" guy on guy action, try "Why R U", also on Line TV for free. Fighter and Tutor are hot as hell in it. Or for something completely different, try "Gameboys", a Filipino BL drama that just came out. If you can get past the first episode (it is pretty silly), the rest of it rocks. It's put out by "The IdeaFirst Company" and is fully available for free with English Subs on KZbin.
