Hey! I'm really happy to hear you're starting to play cello! There are 3 main hand positions that you play this in; 1st, 4th, 5th. If you'd only work on this piece I'm sure you could get it down in a couple of months up to a year but it might not sound exactly the same (sound quality, clear shifting, clear and precise intonation) considering freedom of playing comes with years of practice. I'd really like to note that it's important to play with proper technique, with good supervision of a teacher especially when starting and learning. Wish you all the best!
