Keanu Reeves Talks New Documentary, 'Side by Side'

Actor discusses documentary he produced about the evolution of movies from film to digital.

what I really like hearing him talking here it is the fact he deeply loves what he does. He loves the entertainment aspect of cinema, not the money but what you can give to the audience. He loves the history and methods to create something and put it on a film. He looks fascinated from the process of making a film. He worked and is still working through years of changing in the cinema industry and he thinks about it, wondering, remembering, trying to understand how all of we lost and all we gained change us too. He's not a movie star, he's a man who does his job, he loves his job and he thinks about his life that is also made of his works. If only every actors worked like him, like every others members of a crew! I appreciate Keanu. I've always done, I'll always do.

I guess some people love him because intelligent, creative, attractive, and well read (including platonically, which is probably where you come in). Others love him because he comes across as an incredibly kind , polite, inclusive and open-minded; it's apparent that even so many of his ex-girlfriends want to stay friends with him. yeah you can always tell when there are night exteriors.. it would be impossible to get that much detail on film. That aside , in the case of Drive I have to agree with you, its very very close to film. Much to the credit of the Arri Alexa they used, i think its the best digital camera outthere. Roger Deakins uses the alexa m on skyfall and it also looks quite stunning.

Its just a part of passing of time. Yes, photography and videography has moved on to digital. You can't help it, its just the evolution of the technology. It's like the tube tv's with an antenna back in the day. You won't get to see that anymore because now its flat screen, led plasma tv which took over it. So, we just have to move on and adapt to changes for the better, but it is also good to appreciate the past

Reality, films are entertaining with several scenes projected into one. New productions have lost the original development he’s 7:13 correct. If one watched film development ,such as behind the scenes we see that things diligently are put together. Is it due to the complexity of what public is now expecting on screne?
