In his titled track ’Lover’, Kevin Oh portrays two lovers who are on the critical verge of a break-up. Kevin Oh starts to sing about the decaying phase of the relationship calmly at first, until he comes to a realization that the break-up is not about to happen but has already happened for them, where the emotions climax into extreme sorrow.

yo I feel many of y’all gotta tone down the complaints about this mv. I think it’s beautiful, the song, the scenes and the message. And I know many of y’all disappointed there wasn’t a kiss and whatnot. I feel like it’s a good thing that this mv was relatively subtle and careful. It’s not like boom in your face. Many koreans aren’t used to the idea of same sex relationships, therefore it’s important with representation like this. Nothing wrong with starting out a little slow. Just as long as it’s happening, is what matters! LGBTQ+ people deserve to be acknowledged and respected everywhere around the world! This singer was extremely brave with this message and it makes me so happy! You can tell it’s meant to be taken seriously. Not over dramatic or anything. Just normal in-love difficulties just like any other couple could have. Let’s all hope for a brighter future for LGBTQ+ people/relationships especially in close-minded countries like Korea.

the only criticism I have is that knowing he's straight and getting married to that older actress really ruined the illusion for me. could have hired an actor to play that role, otherwise it comes off as gaybaiting since everyone expects solo artists, particularly those who write their own stuff, to perform at least semi-autobiographical love songs. otherwise it's great to see any positive gay representation in the oppressively heteronomative korean media.

So the term “queerbaiting” refers to (usually forms of media) where a relationship between two people of the same gender is heavily implied to attract an lgbt audience, but is never confirmed as to not anger a conservative or homophobic audience. So fans shipping is not a form of queerbaiting as they have no control over the situation, they are the audience. However, companies can make music videos or release a lot of content that pushes two of their idols together, making it seem like they’re in a romantic relationship, but would never actually let any of their idols come out, so that’s how companies partake in queerbaiting. Just Me Please do your soul a favor and try to search for his old covers, in his old channel. He sometimes deletes them but sometimes you can still find old videos or audios of him around youtube.
