Does the white bike have the same meaning in Netherlands as in Canada? i.e. it is a ghost bike symbolizing where a cyclist got squashed to death by a motorized vehicle.

Thank you for doing this walking tour its just goes to shows how nice the city is without the bicycle propaganda showing the happy air heads riding to and fro without going anywhere. Love the older building I wish here in America we would get out of glass and chrome architecture that’s abomination to the eye. Very peaceful. One of the projects you might think of doing when I see some of the films on Amsterdam I see hundreds and hundreds bicycles of at the local train station. With permission you might want to follow one to the station and to the final destination just to see how the transportation system works.

+Poppy M Why I say its Bicycle propaganda because it pop up in bicycle web site trying to say San Francisco can be a "Amsterdam " type city. Poppycock. First San Francisco is a commuter center that heavy relies on out side transportation mainly the automobile. Secondly the geography of the area. Amsterdam is flat as pancake and can use a one speed bicycle to get around. San Francisco on the other hand has a great deal of hill that needs a specialize type of bicycle to overcome them. Amsterdam you can site on outside café and have a beer or two, however in San Francisco if you try that you would likely be arrested. I hope this clarifies my views

+Poppy M When I am cut off at stop sign on my peddle power tricycle by a bicycle, and when I read about person who either seriously injured or killed by a bicycle I tend to get a little hostile. I don’t want to be a target of angry persons who have had an indecent by dare to be stupid on a bicycle, I have seen enough of that on my motorcycle back in the 70’s.
