The reason Eazy wasn't rolling with Crips like that at Ruthless is because he was smart. He was running a business not a gang. Suge wasn't even a blood to begin with, he paid off some bloods to give him protection. If Eazy wanted to, he could have had a whole bunch of Crips at the label. But no, he was a smart man, he separated the business from the streets, that's why he was so successful and people have nothing but good things to say about him, can't say the same about Suge....

Eazy-E was way too smart, which is why he didn’t invite Crips into his business. He knew that if he paid them for their services, that they’d shake him down (like the Piru did to Suge, and even wanted to kidnap him). Eazy-E was more a drug dealer before the music and he was all about making money and not engaging in that gangbanging nonsense. Ever the businessman, that’s why he was able to reconcile with Ice Cube, and even admit that he’d still work with Dre. He wanted to be taken as a serious record executive. It’s a damn shame that he passed away so young. Suge Knight lacked Eazy-E’s business acumen and wasn’t smart enough to separate the streets from business-which is the reason Tupac got killed. People need to stop disrespecting Eazy’s memory by portraying him as some sort of gangbanger or gangster. He was a former drug dealer turned record executive.
@davidsamuels9557
@davidsamuels9557 Жыл бұрын
I think Suge actually was sharp on the business end - Death Row was the number one record label in the early to mid '90's. However as you said, his downfall was that he ran Death Row like a gang. DOC said that the environment in the Death Row office was worse than jail. DJ Quik compared it to a prison yard. Bloods and Crips sat on opposite sides of the office, shaking down employees for money, food and liquor. Men and women were routinely dragged into a room and beaten. Suge made sure that the violence didn't leak over to the Interscope office next door. Harry O warned Suge to stay out of the limelight, as he could build more power that way. When he saw Suge on the cover of The Source magazine, wearing all red and sitting on the hood of a Rolls Royce, he knew Suge was headed for trouble. That was just negative. Suge and Puffy both followed Eazy's blueprint in building Death Row and Bad Boy. That really is overlooked.

“That OG, C-R-I-P and S G and S hip-hop thugsta so quick to rush ya.” - Eazy-E (Luv 4 Dem Gangsta’z) Eazy-E did not need to constantly bark about his gang affiliation(s). Eazy-E did not need to prominently broadcast his affiliation(s) because he was already verified in the southeastern section of Compton long before his fame. Persistent boasting and bragging is for rappers who are trying to compensate for their lack of street credibility, when you’re already proven in your community, you feel no need to constantly remind people that you are a Crip or a Blood. South Side Compton Crips, E/S Neighborhood Compton Crips, E/S Kelly Park Compton Crips, S/S Atlantic Drive Compton Crips, E/S Ward Lane Compton Crips and E/S Duccy Hood Compton Crips were all unified in the 1980’s and 1990’s, anyone who was somebody in the streets would be well known and respected and sure enough, people from that era who are from those neighborhoods listed above have vouched for Eazy-E’s credibility as an authentic and stand up guy.

Anyway he mentioned Eazy fell out with some of the OGs from Kelly Park when NWA blew up in late 80s as they wanted him to promote local talent and invest money etc. He refused which is why he’d never be with them in an entourage. Weren’t a big beef..but they didn’t mess with me like that! Hence why years later when he did Real Compton City G’s..it was Southside in the video apparently off the strength of Dresta and BG whose Nutty Blocc hood was tight with them.

Eazy never really rep that hard in his songs only when he felt his street cred is on the line. When they shot that Real Mfn Gs video he even stated he wanted to portray that Compton is a suburb and a beatiful neighborhood. Been listening to his songs and it shows he did not like to flaunt gangs he wanted the violence that came with it. It was the shock factor that his fascinated with. Eazy a pioneer of horrorcore even that Bone 1st EP had elements of it.

EaZY is lil mump*man from ADCC . It’s crazyy how the world assume he was KPCC . But those hoods were so tight bacc then it’s understandable. & the dude keefe mentioned at the end big JOE*DEE was AD as well . & VLAD if u dig into ATLANTIC DR history they was known for getting hella paper bacc in those days . So him being a hustler was find he wasn’t no buster at all & he wasn’t no super tough guy . It’S different characteristics in being from the gang or being a member. eazy was so popular down the A * line he could’ve called any one of the hoods like keefe was sayin & they would’ve backed him up. & they never force him to do anything . that movie so bullshit you don’t have to always move with a whole pacc . Look at how many dudes suge had to pay , all that & snoop own his label 😆🫡🔥
