Living in the foothills of the Rockies, and just bought my first pair of Newport Keens to be delivered this week. I feel quite foolish realizing I should have owned these decades ago, but your review is encouraging and the fact they are seven years old is a testament to the quality of construction. Thanks for your informative review!

As a Pennsylvanian I can confirm that the keen Newport h2 is fantastic!

Bought mine this winter here in Poland, I use them with work wool socks, I can't believe my feet are not wet anymore on winter! Of course I don't use them in the snow a lot. Walking around the city and indoors is just an incredible sensation, I can't wait for the summer so people wouldn't look at me like a crazy man in the street 😂

They are really a solid product. I just got a pair of boots from them I’m giving a good test run of right now as well! Cheers!

Right to the point. I'm electrical contractor and I'm surprised that they're actually lasting longer than some of the boots that have purchased in the past.

Great review on Keen Newports. I still have my first pair now 13 years old, took a knife to the soles about 2 years ago to cut some more grip in. Would use them all summer in all conditions, walking, hiking, cycling, in the sea or a river, even spent some time on a building site. Have since replaced them with a new pair, really tough sandles.

I've just brought some and can feel the stitching on my toes do u wear socks thanks

@@leeaston7101 - I've had 2 pairs of Newports over the past 9 years. Love them. Personally I don't feel any stitching on my toes and have never worn socks with them. But occasionally I do use some discrete 'micro socks' with my other Keens (Arroyo II) - though that's because it's more 'shoe like' with it's heel closure. Enjoy them Lee, however you wear them 👍

I like Teva, my cousin has always worn keen. I just don't like how wide the toe box is but maybe I should shut up and give it a try before judging it 😅

My left foot has more of a inward pronation compared to my right foot. It's been over three years almost four with my keens newport h2 sandals. The sandals give great arch support and the top rubber part of the sandals have saved stubbing my toes so many times I've lost count.

Are they really a hundred bucks plus sandal regular price? Just got a pair from a Ross store for thirty and was looking for some reviews. Looks like they are a keeper, especially at that price. Mine are grey though.

With the keen newports Do pebbles and sand end up under your feet so you have to shake it out? Do hikers wear wool socks with these and does that solve the problem with sand and pebbles in the footbed?

Thank you! I did not do ANYTHING to them, though I assume adding some good oil for the leather wouldn’t hurt!

I had these sandals for 11 years, they traveled the world on my feet, then the side strap came off and couldn't be fixed. But 11 years, maybe more, I don't remind exactly. Now I'm buying new, I'm curious about the quality in 2024.

Sorry for missing this! I bought 10.5s and that’s what I wear for most shoes so I would say true to size!

Hi! Thanks for your video! Are they apropriated to walk around 30km per day? I would like to do the Santiago of Compostelle with them and I would like to be sure they are good for it :) i have suffered too much with other boots.
@thedailyhookset68792 жыл бұрын
That’s a great question! I’m not sure what they are officially spec’d for, but I did a 12 mile hike in these in Colorado and they were just fine!
@mountainguyy Жыл бұрын
@Angela - I've tried them on a few longer walks 15-20km (trail and road). At least for me, they didn't suit that purpose - especially on one of the walks (roughly 12km), where I also had a mid size (35L) pack. I really missed the extra support provided with a light low-mid style shoe or boot. For my frequent 10-15 km trail warm weather walks where I carry just a day pack (15-20L), these days I prefer my Keen Arroyo II sandals and keep my Newports for lighter stuff and the beach / sailing where they really rock! Though as you asked the question 11 months ago, if you have your own answer now after (*potentially) completing the walk, let us know if you used them and how they performed. 👍

Mine have less wear and yet the sole separated. Go figure, the glue was only placed in a couple of spots. PS. Ditch the background music, it just distracts from your commentary.

Someone claimed that it smelled bad after using it what are your thoughts . Does it dry quickly ? Are you able to walk on tide pools with slippery rocks ?
@thedailyhookset6879 Жыл бұрын
I never had a smelling issue. Still don’t. They dry super fast, especially in Rockies where it’s typically more dry in the summer. As for slippery rocks, they do good enough, but I wouldn’t expect them to be the same as cleated wading boots
@Dara-Baba Жыл бұрын
Yes i agree i had this same pair. Lasted me only about 3 years. And yea they did start to stink so i had to scrub the insole with toothbrush and soap for very long. Surprising how much dirt they would collect
