Okay so... I fell in love with my guy best friend... I depended on him all the time we literally were inseparable. We never left each others side basically. He knew how to make me laugh and smile, i felt like i could trust him with everything. So on Valentines Day I got all the courage I could get to be vulnerable and tell him my feelings. For the first week everything was fine. We didn’t end up together yet we became closer and i though something was going to happen. Then we went to a mutual friends house and everything turned upside down he ignored me and hung out with her, while i was struggling to be okay that were laughing and flirting even. Right in front of me. From then on, everything has been so hard, I was so dependent on him and in one day i lost him. We talk every bow and then but he replaced me with her and im all alone. Of course i have friends, a lot even, but none are him. I’m still recovering and trying to get through it with God. But it’s still hard. This song harbors many memories for me, and I listened to this when my partner sent it to me when our relationship was in an unstable position, and when he was stuck in a horrible place. I still remember how dark times were back then, and to think that we're in dark times now (potentially in an even worse place than before), it honestly just hurts. This song reminds me of all the doubt we had to face, but also reminds me of how it can be possible to push through. I'm just hoping we can push through here too. The lines "I’ll be honest / We’re better off as friends" captured how I felt at the start of it all, and yet, I didn't want to let go. When we were finally listening to this song together around May-ish of this year, I still remember how my partner closed it as it moved to the second verse, saying that it was the part that related to him the most-- and looking at the lyrics, I just hope that things weren't too awful for him from then on. This song has been somewhat of a comfort song for me, as much as it is sad.
