My husband’s family has been in Caguas since before the conquistadors and to this day there is a sign (Sector Los Carrasquillo’s) dedicated to the area where the Carrasquillos live up in the mountains of Caguas overlooking the Centro. I miss it everyday.

Puerto Rico had more Tabaco production than Cuba over 50 years ago, I remember going into many sheds filled with hanging leaves everywhere. Uncle's and extended family members had many fields of stocks, cattles, sugar plantations, 3 different kinds of potatoes, pigs, sheeps, pineapples, coffee fields, and many other crops. The economy was mostly based on agriculture years ago, and coffee, sugar, pineapple and Tabaco were a number one export product to European countries and the USA. Puerto Rican coffee is still sold at the Vatican for $38.00 a pound today

Santiago, Dominican Republic is the mecca of tobacco production in the world. Cuban cigar is world renowned because of the embargo, the scarcity of obtaining it, however, can be had easily in the DR. Even better, you can obtain it in Cuba, if you decide to travel there. Puerto Rico doesn’t produce much sugar even to support her Bacardi production. That is done exclusively in the DR. If you get a chance, visit the Bacardi factory. I am not drinker. You would like it there. Safe travels…👍🏾 PS…I must add the tobacco is the most expensive agricultural product per pound.

Humacao and Orocovis don’t have a ton of English speakers so it was fun practicing. I still have some family there too and I made a bunch of friends when I went there. It’s such a fun place to be man.

2 reasons David: 1. I’ve been interested in going to Caguas for years… Whenever I would ask Puerto Ricans if they have ever been to Caguas they’ll usually say no and make a face. 2. Caguas experienced serious population decline from 2010 to 2020…

Back in my 20’s I used to go to PR all the time because the flight was cheap and I enjoyed the culture and fresh fruits….. I always saw Caguas on the map and would ask people about it…. They would always laugh and tell me it sucks…. It seemed to be big town v. little town slander. Caguas also has one of the largest population declines in the last 20 years…. I actually think it’s a great title because it yanks on the triggers of people…. If I name it Caguas… Puerto Rico’s forgotten city…. The title wouldn’t have been spicy enough.

I have 6-8 Jamaica videos on the channel. Maybe 6 PR videos… I love Jamaica because that’s my roots and my people. I love PR because I grew up with Puerto Ricans playing baseball in New York City eating their food. My first girlfriend was Puerto Rican… also…the round trip to PR from New York-Newark area is 110-130 round trip… It’s easier to go to Puerto Rico than Jamaica (350-450 RT).

Why are you hating and being racist? 😂😂😂 puerto Rico is amazing, that's why he's there. You don't need to tear one country to uplift yours. That shows insecurity. Puerto ricans have no issue with Jamaicans. They would love to tour Jamaica, but it's not cheap. It would be the price of an international flight. Also, unfortunately, the roads are not great, and it's not that safe to tour outside the resorts.
