Keep Calm and Listen to Heather Cox Richardson

On Inauguration Eve, Red Wine & Blue held a live virtual event with our favorite historian, Heather Cox Richardson. Heather helped us put things into perspective and reminded us that small groups of people can change history.
Over 22,000 people attended the Zoom call, 24,000 watched it on KZbin, and almost 120,000 streamed it on Heather's Facebook page. This is a moment where we can fall apart or all come together to make change - and it's clear which option this community is choosing.

This is the formula used when I worked to build up the grass roots activists in PA for Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America. After 2 major mass shootings in schools I was fired up to do something. I went to a rally alone, a town hall alone and spoke to my rep. Scott Perry. The passion brought courage in me. I joined Moms & took a state lead role - Membership Lead. I phonebanked, recruited, and we built local groups across the state. 5 years

Community building is an answer to isolation. And Yes, left it all in the field but it’s time to build anew. Still not going back. Down here in Texas - so it’s pretty much as crazy as it gets… but still, my hope and my joy belong to me and can’t be taken.

Very interested in outcomes of this contest in our neighboring state. South Carolina is also terribly gerrymandered and the judges are chosen by the general assembly, so checks and balances are pretty much nonexistent.
