It took a long time for Rae Ripple to see herself as an artist. For her, welding started as an outlet. “I was just building and creating because I needed a place to go and let go.
As a teenager, Rae left her abusive home and experienced homelessness for several years before finding a new path forward. She tried everything from tow truck driving to fire-fighting. When she finally found welding, she found a passion that helped her chip away at all the pain she’d carried from her childhood. It’s that same passion that drives her to teach and inspire the next generation by showing them how far they can go with dedication and hard work.
