Your kale looks great! I also had best success growing kale with a mesh netting. It seems like after it rains, the pests come! Check plants regularly to keep them healthy. I use ECOS fruit and veggie wash when I bring my leafy greens home.

do you keep the netting on all the time or just apply in the evening or?
@SpiritsOfAnotherDay9 ай бұрын
You can use it all the time.. except when you’re picking-harvesting. 🙂

Thank you for your video! Do you remove the netting every time you water, then put it back on or are your plants on a drip system? 🌻

Will this also help with aphids?

Ughhh we have spider mites & aphids ALL over our kale & pepper plants 😑 about to try neem oil!
@yogigardens2 жыл бұрын
I use insecticidal soap for spider mites. Seems to work well!

What do you think of the dish soap method?
@yogigardens Жыл бұрын
You mean drowning them in soapy water? I do that with some bugs. Mainly for japanese beetles. But would work for other bugs as well. The cabbage moths are not easy to catch so thats why i use the netting instead. In my area that is what I'm dealing with the most

How long after foliar spraying plants with Neem oil is it safe to harvest or consume the plant material? (I’m looking at you…Kale and Brussels Sprouts ;)
@yogigardens2 жыл бұрын
I'd harvest before I spray. Then after harvest about 5 days later. You can also easily wash neem oil off

I still find that bugs get under the netting. My kale is infested with aphids and I had a netting over it. I’m not sure what happen

Neem oil mixed with Castile soap will take care of aphids when sprayed on weekly, also diatomaceous earth work wonders for almost all pests and bugs dusted once a season
@yogigardens2 жыл бұрын
I blast aphids with water or kill them by rolling my fingers over their soft little bodies. Also insecticidal soap is great for organic gardening. You can make your own or buy it
@adamkrasneski36793 жыл бұрын
Had a real issue w cabbage worms/moths exclusively. Solved w rough recycled netting. Then, the kale finally went to seed and aphids are eating all the seed pods. So frustrating.
@yogigardens2 жыл бұрын
Aphids are lretty easy to get rid of! I either roll my finger over them or blast them with water. They die so easily. Insecticidal soap can work too
