Hey Loves! I know this video sounds sponsored but I promise it's not! LOL I've used this Head & Shoulders shampoo a few times before but never with plans to straighten my hair. I can safely say I've found my Holy Grail products when I feel the urge to wear my hair straight. I love when I can find a quality product that doesn't cost much at all.

Wish I saw this sooner! I straightened my hair for the first time in 10 months and couldn't wear it for more than 4 days cuz it itched so bad! I will give it a shot when I do it again for my birthday in November!

That's because all their commercials feature white models back in my day and I believe you and I are the same age. I PERSONALLY like, "kera care" their dry and itchy I see you mentioned their thermal line so you're familiar with kera care

I use the mint almond oil as well to combat my dandruff. It works really well! It's been a few weeks since I straightened my hair so I pin curled/Bantu knotted it to bring it some life again.

head and shoulders should make a dry shampoo, also how do u keep your hair moisturized while having it straight for that long? i want to have my hair straight for a long time but when i do after about a week my hair gets dry and i feel like its breaking off

I assume your hair is low porosity because it's been hot/humid af in the DMV area. My hair would be a frizz ball if I kept it straight for almost a month with no touch ups, especially at the roots. Also, essential oils like Tea Tree and Rosemary (helps to disinfect your scalp and eliminate flakes and itchiness) are better than using Head & Shoulders since it is known to cause hair loss for some people.

I just looove your sign -off!! LOL. But when I was relaxed I always used head and shoulders. I had terrible dandruff and they were the only shampoo and conditioner that seemed to work... now I gotta try them again.

Omg, I use Head n Shoulders on my scalp too. Its like coconut oil or something but it WORKS! Never tried any Mielle products but I’ve definitely been considering it!

How the heck do you keep your hair from reverting? I have textures 3b-4b high porosity i think and it reverts almost instantly

Yeah, I need answers on this as well because something's not right. Even hair that is low porosity isn't going to be bullet proof resistant to all of this heat/humidity. I did see a little frizz at her roots, but I suspect touch ups here and there within the month she had it straight.

try the chase method with a bristle brush that has little to no gaps so that it get every strand of hair compared to a rat-tail comb. Also you may have to wrap your hair right after you finish like me in order to "set" the hair (glamtwinz channel has an instructional video on wrapping your hair) I also steer clear of any moisture and I even cut the temperature down in my shower and wrap my hair before I even cut the water on. I also use the red ken all soft shampoo and conditioner to help smooth my hair out for straightening. I also use the CHI silk infusion on my wet hair and follow with the CHI 450 heat protectant before I blow dry. Also if you use a spray heat protectant for flat ironing, instead of spraying it directly to the hair, spray it in your hand first to prevent the protectant from getting on any of your already straightened hair and cause it to start reverting. Sounds like a lot but it's those small things that can prolong a press.

Hey Ebony Your videos have inspired me to go natural, and I have been going strong for about three months. I know that I am very early in my journey but I have a couple of questions about yours. Did you experience periods of slowed haired growth or stopped growing for a while? If so, how long? How did you keep yourself from getting discouraged?

Yeah Head and Shoulders work really well rather if your hair is Curly or straight I have really bad dandruff sometimes and itchy dry scalp and that's the only shampoo that really works for me I alternate between that and other shampoos

Try some essential oils like Tea Tree or Rosemary. Shampooing, especially using Head & Shoulders isn't the only way to eliminate a dry itchy and flaky scalp. It's actually worse in the long term.

CJ because she talks about how she got her hair to last the month if she washed it then it didn't last the month.. that's why I asked that I was confused on if she re straightened her hair she didn't go into detail on that she only mentioned shampoo.

I know this is for Ebony, but I just went through a year or so where I felt like my hair wasn't growing, so I thought I'd respond. Whenever I would have periods where my hair didn't grow, I felt like it was from over manipulation or not taking care of it enough. Protective styles like cute cornrows and two strand twists with just my natural hair helped my hair grow best. Sometimes when you hit shoulder length, all the friction from your clothes can cause split ends and lead to slow growing or stagnant hair too!
