That's a good-looking fence you put in there, Chuck. If it keeps the cows where you want 'em, then I'd say it's a good-working fence, too. Take care and God bless.

My wife and I are starting ours now. We've got 16 acres and a lot of heart. Maybe because it takes a lot of heart when you're in your late 50's😅 But we're excited, can't wait.

As a contractor of 30 years experience the only beef I have with you fence is your corners. It is going to move probably not in 6 months to a year but it is going to move. Yes your wires are lose to me but old man gravity is pulling non stop on those corners and add some rain and hot cold and it's going to lean. Buy a post hole auger they are cheap off eBay lots of uses not just fence. I use my 4 inch auger for all kings of things from mixing feed to hard ground for water lines. By the way that fence would have taken me a day and a half and the bill would have been 400

Hi this is Dale in Arizona I think your friend looks great for what you have to deal with I know I have granite 6" under the dirt everywhere I had to buy a inch and a 1/2 rotahammer bed to get a straight line Maybe that'll help you maybe it won't have a great day

Lucky you. You only had one post that you could not install. My quarter section has a few inches of soil over limestone. Have to hammer drill a pilot hole for each post. Five to ten posts and your arms about to fall off.

Could you drop a link for those little stoppers yall are putting at the end of the H post to hold the wires? That looks so much better than other methods I've seen. I ordered my timeless fence and I'm about to install it so this video is perfectly timed. Thanks for sharing

How far do you space the T posts?
@andrewmaiden3738

Question, Couldn't this have been done using one stringer per wire? Feed the wire through one end post and use a griipper end at the post and run the wire to the other end post where you use the stringer! Or am I missing something?
@jwelborn39
@jwelborn39 2 жыл бұрын
You can do that but sometimes it is beneficial to put strainers at both ends. As the weather changes and just over time this fence will eventually stretch out and having strainers at both ends give you the ability to pull more tension. Also in the case of these timeless fence posts the wire is ran through holes and if you ever have a break or have to cut the wire for some reason you will end up putting a splice in the wire, having a strainer on each end will allow you to pull from either direction as that splice will not fit through the hole in the post.

Do you rely on the perimeter fence for your pigs or do you use the single strand only for them. I’m asking because I don’t have a complete perimeter fence yet but we’d like to get at least a couple pigs for us and some friends. We were thinking of the net and hot wire plan like Jordon Green uses. I just don’t know if that’s acceptable without perimeter in place.

Through our experience, without training them first they escape.
@heathjones8106

@@wendyjennings1502 We would definitely train them first. I should have mentioned that. I'm curious if the net and hot wire combination are sufficient assuming they are well trained to electric.

@@heathjones8106 its not 100% with females of age. Some of our sows that go in heat escape and literally want to "climb walls". We're blessed that they come to the house and look for us. We have large white Yorkshire.
